Why Now Is The Perfect Time To Be A Girl Boss

Why Now Is The Perfect Time to Be A Girlboss - Love TL Hayden

If you've been following me you'd know that #GIRLBOSS is one of my favorite books for Millennial female entrepreneurs. Toying with the idea of starting your own business or taking your business to the next level? Right now is the perfect time to do so.

More than ever young women are stepping out of their comfort zone and going full force. We're also supporting each other way more instead of playing the jealousy card or feeling as though helping someone else may take away from our own thing we've got going on. It seems like we've come to the realization that there's strength in numbers. No need to be so competitive, all of us can have a piece of success.  In my opinion, women such as Beyonce and GIRLBOSS writer, Sophia Amoruso have given us  the encouragement and permission to do whatever the hell we want.

My freelance business has expanded this year and it has alot to do with being myself, owning my title as an #entrepreneur, and letting others in. So, here's what I suggest.

1. Make A Plan

If this  is something you really want to do, figure out how you'll go about doing it and know that owning your own business is not for the lazy. It takes patience, time, and determination. It may take years before you turn a real profit and have the ability to pay yourself.

2. Forget what others think

Some may think you're crazy for wanting to start your own business doing what you love. You may lose friends, some may not understand you or support you, and others may have negative things to say. Not everybody is made to work a 9-5 for someone else, their entire life. The universe is full of different people who are capable of doing different things. If it wasn't for entrepreneurs, we wouldn't have light bulbs, computers, cars, or facebook. So, be proud of what you do and own it. Your confidence alone will attract your "tribe" (clients, customers, people who like you for you)

3. Be authentic

Be yourself! Don't try and copy what others are dong. It's okay to be inspired by others but being your authentic self will set you apart. Figure out what works for you and shape the personality of you and your business.

4. Surround yourself with people who get you

Start networking and collaborating with others. Surround yourself with other entrepreneurs and like-minded people. Attend meetups or events in your community, your chamber of commerce, and even online groups. By doing so, you'll receive motivation, inspiration, answers to problems others have had experience with, and friendships that can help you and your business grow.

Kudos to being your own boss! You got this! ❤
